{"id":12981,"date":"2025-03-20T08:03:09","date_gmt":"2025-03-20T09:03:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/preforeclosurefortunes.com\/?p=12981"},"modified":"2025-03-21T17:36:41","modified_gmt":"2025-03-21T17:36:41","slug":"bayern-munich-confirm-footballer-18-dead-after-horror-head-injury-in-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/preforeclosurefortunes.com\/index.php\/2025\/03\/20\/bayern-munich-confirm-footballer-18-dead-after-horror-head-injury-in-training\/","title":{"rendered":"Bayern Munich confirm footballer, 18, dead after horror head injury in training"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"594\" height=\"394\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"article-image wp-image-22759811 lazyload\" alt=\"FC Bayern Munchen v Arsenal FC: Quarter-final Second Leg - UEFA Champions League 2023\/24\" loading=\"lazy\" data-src=\"https:\/\/preforeclosurefortunes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/GettyImages-2149124633.jpg\">\t<\/div><figcaption>Bayern released a statement on Thursday morning (Picture: Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/bayern-munich-fc\/\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\">Bayern Munich<\/a> have confirmed the death of 18-year-old Guo Jiaxuan following a tragic accident in a training match.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/02\/13\/footballer-18-suffers-brain-death-training-accident-22552611\/\">Guo was struck in the head by the knee of an opposing player <\/a>during a training match in Spain in February.<\/p>\n<p>The young defender Guo was part of Bayern Munich\u2019s World Squad, an international project by the <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/germany\/\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\">German<\/a> club aimed at developing promising players from across the globe.<\/p>\n<p>The defender had also represented <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/china\/\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\">China<\/a> at Under-17 level.<\/p>\n<p>A Bayern statement released on Thursday said: \u2018FC Bayern is mourning the passing of Guo Jiaxuan, the former World Squad player who has died at the age of 18 in his native China.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018He succumbed to the effects of a serious head injury following a tragic accident during a training match in Spain on 6 February. <\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The club&#8217;s thoughts are with his family and friends.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"564\" height=\"366\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"article-image wp-image-22552598 lazyload\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" data-src=\"https:\/\/preforeclosurefortunes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/SEI_239736463-1d45-e1739453007929.jpg\">\t<\/div><figcaption>Guo Jiaxuan suffered a devastating head injury during a match (Picture: Bayern Munich)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u2018The centre-back was part of the FC Bayern World Squad in 2023, which gives talented players from all over the world the chance to showcase themselves for professional football.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Jiaxuan was also part of China\u2019s youth national teams.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Guo suffered subarachnoid haemorrhage, an uncommon type of stroke caused by bleeding on the surface of the brain, in the accident.<\/p>\n<p>He was taken to a Madrid hospital where his family were tragically informed Guo no longer has any brain functions.<\/p>\n<p>His brother said: \u2018I learned that the doctor at the hospital said my brother had too much bleeding in his head.
