It is an all-Championship affair in the FA Cup third round on Sunday as Coventry City host Sheffield Wednesday at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Frank Lampard is hoping to build some momentum after a fairly underwhelming start to life as Sky Blues boss.

Coventry have won just once in their last five matches and defeat to Norwich last time out after back-to-back draws with Millwall and Cardiff left them 16th in the Championship table.

They remain behind the Owls who are 10th in the division after also finishing level with Millwall in their last outing.

Danny Rohl’s team went to Coventry in the Championship in October and returned to South Yorkshire with a 2-1 victory as Shea Charles scored an injury time winner.

The sides met in the FA Cup as recently as last season, with the first clash ending in a 1-1 draw at Hillsborough before a 4-1 win for Coventry in the replay.

The competition has been changed since then, with matches going straight to extra-time and possibly penalties instead of replays.

Is Coventry City vs Sheffield Wednesday on TV?

The game is not being shown live on television in the UK but it was moved to the unusual kick-off time of 6pm to meet an international broadcasting request, so it will be available to watch abroad, reports the Sheffield Star.

Highlights will be shown on Match of the Day which starts at 10.30pm on BBC One.

Speaking of his experience of the FA Cup after winning the competition four times with Chelsea as a player, Lampard said: ‘From my time growing up as a young boy, watching it on TV. I love the competition; I’m still a traditionalist in the sense of how important it is growing and waiting for cup final day and watching the build-up

‘I was lucky to have good success in the competition for the most part, so it’s a big competition for me.’

On team selection he added: ‘We pick a strong team because I want to do well in it. We have a competitive squad so there may be some chances for some players who haven’t played as much but I’m picking a team that I want to win the game.

‘We’ve had a good week and a bit of rest after the busy period and then worked hard. We will put out a competitive team and we expect the players to be competitive.’
