Both Manchester City and Chelsea are dealing with injuries as they prepare for their Premier League showdown this afternoon.

The defending champions unveiled three new signings this week with Omar Marmoush, Vitor Reis and Abdukodir Khusanov arriving from Eintracht Frankfurt, Palmeiras and Lens respectively for a combined fee of £123million.

All three are in contention to make their debuts this weekend but Ruben Dias is set to miss out after limping off against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night.

The centre-half is still being assessed but is facing a spell on the sidelines with Jeremy Doku also set to miss out.

Nathan Ake is also unavailable along with long-term absentees Rodri and Oscar Bobb

Chelsea meanwhile ended their five-match winless league run on Monday with a 3-1 home win against Wolves to move back into the top four.

The Blues leapfrogged City but now face the reigning champions who are beginning to find form again after a disappointing end to last year.

Ahead of Chelsea’s trip up to the Etihad Stadium, Cole Palmer has been passed fit with Enzo Fernandez and Levi Colwill also likely to be available.

Romeo Lavia missed Monday’s visit of Wolves with Belgian dealing with another injury issue that could sideline him for a number of weeks.

In defence, Trevor Chalobah impressed on his first start since returning from his loan spell at Crystal Palace and could be in line to start again if Colwill is not deemed fit enough to start.

Reece James started his first league game since November as he continued his encouraging return to fitness and could start his second successive game at the weekend..
