accident in the Alps.<\/p>\n<p>Murray <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/08\/01\/andy-murray-tennis-retirement-confirmed-playing-last-match-olympics-20531775\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/08\/01\/andy-murray-tennis-retirement-confirmed-playing-last-match-olympics-20531775\/\">entered retirement last year<\/a> following the <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/olympics\/\">Olympic Games<\/a> in <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/paris\/\">Paris<\/a>, with the former world No.1 jetting off for a family ski holiday before joining <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" champion has opened up about the trip in a new interview, sharing an amusing anecdote about how he struggled with skiing so much that his wife Kim did not want to be spotted with him.<\/p>\n<p>Murray, who married his long-term partner Kim in 2015 and has four children with her, told the <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/show\/1HlxCFrsX21UQ40OLiEVjb\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/show\/1HlxCFrsX21UQ40OLiEVjb\">Sporting Misadventures Podcast<\/a>: ‘The first two days were shocking. I couldn\u2019t get off the ski lift. I couldn\u2019t get up.<\/p>\n<p>‘They\u2019re quite low some of the ski lifts. My wife refused to go on the ski lifts with me because it\u2019s embarrassing, isn’t it, when I just couldn\u2019t get up. <\/p>\n<p>‘So I was having to go on with strangers who were like having to lift me up. The ski lift to take you back up to the top was closing and there was another one slightly further down the hill. Me and my brother-in-law, we\u2019re like, let\u2019s just go a little bit further and we\u2019ll go up the other ski lift.<\/p>\n<p>‘We went down the mountain a little bit. I can\u2019t ski. I don\u2019t know how to stop at this stage. We\u2019d been on literally a beginner green slope. We were, let\u2019s say, four 4\/500m down the slope, got to where the ski lift was, and the other ski lift had shut.<\/p>\n<p>‘The guy who was operating it said the only way to get down now is you have to get down the mountain. I\u2019ve gone past my brother-in-law and shouting to him: \u2018I\u2019m in trouble here, I don\u2019t know how to stop here!’<\/p>\n<p>‘I throw myself on the ground and then started trying to go down on my a**e which I couldn’t really do. They\u2019re there to help people who are injured rather than just some idiot that thought they could get down the slope late in the day. That was a bit embarrassing.’<\/p>\n<p>Djokovic teased his coach Murray over the skiing trip at the Brisbane International before the Australian Open got underway.<\/p>\n<p>‘He is skiing at the moment,’ Djokovic said. ‘He has a family skiing trip. Sending my love to all the Murray family.<\/p>\n<p>‘I hope he doesn\u2019t get injured skiing before he comes to Melbourne.
