Noussair Mazraoui is facing further tests on a knee injury picked up during Manchester United’s draw at Everton on Saturday.

The summer signing from Bayern Munich started the match at Goodison Park but was replaced by Leny Yoro after 70 minutes.

It was not a planned substitution, but the Morocco international was feeling pain in his right knee and had to go off.

The 27-year-old received treatment on the field, with his teammates showing some concern, and then was treated again in the dressing room after the game.

ESPN report that further tests on the knee problem are set for Monday and a decision is yet to be made on whether he will be available for the Red Devils’ next outing on Wednesday evening.

After the 2-2 draw on Merseyside Ruben Amorim’s side are quickly back into action, hosting Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Wednesday.

If Mazraoui is absent then it will be another headache for the Portuguese boss, who is already due to have a number of players missing against the Tractor Boys.

Centre-backs Lisandro Martinez and Jonny Evans are out, while left-back Luke Shaw’s injury woes continue.

There are also absentees in midfield as Kobbie Mainoo, Mason Mount and Toby Collyer remain sidelined and winger Amad Diallo is also out.

It was another very young substitutes’ bench which Amorim picked against Everton, with the likes of Chido Obi-Martin, Ayden Heaven, Elyh Harrison, Sekou Kone and Hubert Graczyk all involved in the matchday squad.

Speaking ahead of the game against the Toffees, Amorim said of his injured contingent: ‘Amad is out for a long time,’ Amorim.

‘I think Mason [Mount] continues to make his recovery, Luke [Shaw] continues to make his recovery. I don’t have a day. Toby [Collyer] seems to be the closest one but not now.

‘Kobbie is recovering. We have to adapt to use the players that we have for the schedule.’
