When can Liverpool win the Premier League title? Earliest date revealed

Liverpool continued their seemingly unstoppable march towards the Premier League title on Wednesday night as they beat Newcastle at Anfield.

The 2-0 win over the Magpies took the Reds to 13 points clear at the top of the table after playing 28 games.

Closest challengers Arsenal could only draw 0-0 with Nottingham Forest, who are in third place themselves, six points behind the Gunners.

It appears that it would take a monumental meltdown from Liverpool and a remarkable surge from Arsenal to deny the Reds the title.

At this stage neither looks very likely given Liverpool have lost just one league game all season and the Gunners are not firing on all cylinder by any means, struggling to deal with injuries to their forward line.

There is still a lot of football to be played this season, even if the title race appears to be over surprisingly early.

But when is the earliest that Arne Slot and his men could be celebrating a remarkable Premier League success?

When could Liverpool win the Premier League title?

The earliest possible date that Liverpool could secure the Premier League title is April 5.

The Reds travel to take on Fulham on that date and to win the Premier League that early they will have to beat Southampton, Everton and then the Cottagers, while Arsenal will have to lose all four of their games up to that date.

Arsenal’s next four Premier League games are at Manchester United, then home to Chelsea and Fulham before a trip to Everton.

Four straight defeats for the Gunners seems unlikely, but Liverpool will be hoping Mikel Arteta’s men embark on a disastrous run.

Obviously there are numerous possibilities after the earliest possible date, which would include Liverpool dropping points and Arsenal winning to put pressure on them.

Possible dates when the title race could officially be over are 19 April, when Liverpool go to Leicester, or 26 April, when they host Tottenham.

The Reds could even win the Premier League title when Arsenal go to Anfield on 10 May, with two fixtures still to come after that game.

Speaking after the win over Newcastle, Slot said: ‘I don’t know [about the title] because I don’t think that way,

‘I think about PSG already and I watched them against [Man] City. I am impressed by the quality they have, they are on a similar run as we are, having hardly lost any games for a long time.

‘That is my main focus. I’ll forget about the Premier League and the table for now, until the moment we’ve played PSG. Then I’ll think about the Premier League again and Southampton.’

Liverpool are busy with Champions League action as well in the coming days, with a trip to PSG in the first leg of their last 16 tie on 5 March, followed by the second leg a the following week.
